PECO was selected to provide a new precipitator system for Cinergy that required major structural modifications for installation. R.E. Warner & Associates, Inc. provided structural engineering, design and drawings for procurement of the steel fabricators by PECO. The goal was to complete the engineering and procurement by November, 2000 and deliver the new system equipment and fabrications to Cinergy in February 2001.

R.E. Warner provided structural engineering design services for the installation of a new electrostatic precipitator system. The new structural steel was required for the installation of a new six-field precipitator, hot deck and cold deck, monorail for transformer maintenance, and roof canopy (option).

The basic structural engineering and design services provided included kick-off and site inspection meetings, assisting PECO in structural-related development of equipment general arrangement drawings, obtaining equipment load data and defining the basis for design, including wind, snow and seismic conditions, performing structural modeling using STAAD analysis to determine the impact of new equipment on primary column structure and analysis of new equipment support steel, and preparing structural drawings for bid issue to Steel Fabricators via PECO and issuing engineer-stamped construction drawings.
