R.E. Warner was chosen by the City of Solon to provide QA/QC and resident construction engineering management services for new sanitary sewers, storm sewers, waterlines, bike and multi-purpose trails and road reconstruction. Overall project length is over 10 miles and was designed by others.
The construction aspects of this project included contract document review, participation in a prebid conference and addendum reviews. An initial project team meeting was in attendance by representatives of the City, the design consultant and R.E. Warner prior to onset of construction.
Preconstruction reviews were held with the general contractor at which time subconstractors, material manufactuers and suppliers were identified. A subsequent preconstruction conference and testing conference was included.
Field observation required the coordination of several construction inspectors. Site safety was of paramount consideration.
Testing and inspection procedures and records were identified, delineated and complied. Utility relocation coordination, coordination of shop drawings and field record documents (as-built drawings) were completed.
Construction progress meetings, routine record keeping and weekly reports and processing of progress payments and change orders were included. The project went through a final review for substantial completion, punch list, and a final report and assembly of records.
