The City of Amherst, Ohio selected R.E. Warner to perform computer modeling of the City’s water distribution system on EPANET 2.0 to identify areas of improvement to the system.

R.E. Warner reviewed the existing distribution system, measured flows and obtained pressure readings throughout the City in order to develop a calibrated computer model of the system. This calibrated computer model was then used to provide several improvement recommendations to the City. Preliminary cost estimates for the various recommendations were also developed to determine the cost effectiveness of implementing the recommendations.

 This calibrated computer model is now a valuable tool for City planning of any future upgrades or additions to the City’s water distribution system. The calibrated model can be used to determine the effects of proposed modifications to the system and evaluate the consequences prior to spending the time and money on construction.
