Project Overview
A leading independent reinforcing steel fabricator and placer headquartered in San Diego, California, is building a state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly new micro mill in southern California to produce reinforcing bars. R.E. Warner has been selected to complete the detailed design and prepare construction documents to install the new Micro Mill.
R.E. Warner’s scope includes site layout, structural, electrical, piping, HVAC, plumbing and architectural services for buildings, equipment, water systems, roads, and utilities. Our services further include county application engineering, preliminary engineering, and construction documents.
Expected to begin commissioning in early 2027, the new facility will provide a local rebar source and improve the logistics required for getting rebar to the region. The new micro mill will be able to directly connect to renewable energy sources leveraging an abundance of renewable energy available in California. It will also help lower CO2 emissions through world-class efficiency, reduced transportation, and green energy.
