Project Overview
R.E. Warner provided installation and construction engineering for a new forge shop and 10,000 ton forge press including building renovations and expansion, complete design, layout, permitting assistance for office, and site improvements with railroad spurs.
The project included modification and expansion of several buildings; foundation design for new press and pump room; design of manipulator floor slabs; building ventilation systems; hydraulic room layout and design; electric power, building lighting services and control systems and cooling water systems design. Site improvements included design of a new railroad spur, underground utilities and stormwater management and design.
Permitting and code compliance evaluations were conducted to ensure the design met the latest industry standard requirements. Special considerations were made when assessing the integration and interaction between building foundations with equipment foundations such as the forge press and rail-bound manipulator.
