Overview
The Senior Project Scheduler works closely with project management to support engineering project execution by developing detailed plans and resource-loaded schedules for all projects, analyzing overall resource utilization and tracking progress toward project completion.
Responsibilities
- Develops baseline project schedules for engineering proposal development while coordinating with project manager, engineering design leads.
- Responsible for planning and scheduling projects from FEL & Detailed Engineering Design through the Construction and Commissioning phases.
- Collaborates with the Project Management Team and Project Discipline Leads to develop project plan and obtain project status.
- Collaborates with accounting personnel to forecast and manage the project budget and its relationship to the project schedule.
- Leads all project scheduling meetings, ensuring appropriate representation of project management.
- Primary liaison between Operations and Project Management on all planning-related issues in relation to project execution.
- Keeps project schedules and information accurate and up-to-date through meetings with Project Discipline Leads and Project Managers.
- Evaluates actual progress and compares to baseline, reports analysis against schedule to Project Manager and Department Managers.
- Prepares detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and ensures distribution to appropriate staff. Supports Project Management with reporting including risk analysis and earned value.
- Coordinates all project controls to assess risk in accordance with established best practices and standards. Analyzes changes to project schedules, impact on cost and timeline, prepares risk and impact assessments of any changes to the schedule and presents to project team
- Ensures all project change orders and project delays are thoroughly documented, analyzed and reviewed.
- Communicates impact on the project timeline and cost to all stakeholders.
- Establishes, develops & maintains project logic networks, schedules and risk management data, forecasting, earned value, schedule variance analysis and schedule quality checks.
- Participates in the review & updates of procedures and instructions for preparation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
- Reviews schedules, progress and productivity of engineering services, tracks and monitors earned value progress.
- Uses established best practices and scheduling software to implement, maintain and analyze the project schedule to include coding and loading of resources, loading of costs and loading of general sequencing information.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years’ engineering project schedule development experience.
- 5+ years’ experience using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- PMP, PSP or CCP certification a plus.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Financial Management.
