Overview
The Senior Electrical Designer is responsible for planning and conducting a complete project or relatively limited scope or portion of a large and more diverse project. Selecting and adapting plans, techniques, designs, or layouts. Reviews and analyzes a variety of design data to determine requirements to meet objectives. Prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts/materials lists, estimates, procedures, etc. May supervise other designers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently performs field measurements and may lead others in gathering critical on-site data to support accurate and constructible design solutions.
- Provides construction support and may lead construction coordination efforts on straightforward or routine projects, ensuring alignment between design intent and field implementation.
- Performs detailed design calculations to support layout, equipment sizing, and compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Develops technical sections of specifications and prepares comprehensive materials lists to support procurement and construction activities.
- Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and project reports, contributing to accurate budgeting and resource planning.
- Investigates non-standard code-related issues, researches applicable regulations, and coordinates with code officials to obtain authoritative interpretations ensuring design compliance.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews and checks the work of fellow designers and drafters, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to company and client standards.
- May serve as the discipline lead, guiding and delegating tasks to other designers and drafters, and ensuring timely and coordinated project execution.
- Leads the design effort on routine, single-discipline projects, managing design workflow and serving as the primary design point of contact.
- Coordinates and integrates design activities across disciplines, ensuring consistency and alignment with overall project objectives.
- Prepares detailed cost estimates for specific scopes of work and reviews contractor estimates for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with design documents.
- When serving as Project Designer on routine projects, oversees team activities to ensure successful achievement of scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical or Associates Degree in applicable design disciplines from an accredited technical institution or college required.
- 8+ years of related drafting and/or design experience required.
- Valid Ohio Drivers’ License required.
- Proficient in Revit.
- Proficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
