Overview
The Quality Specialist performs specific quality-related functions within the organization’s quality program. They are responsible for auditing, monitoring, and proposing measures to correct or improve the company’s final products and processes to meet established quality standards. They assist in preparing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures and perform routine audits and quality reviews. Duties involve writing Standard Operating Procedures and updating quality and quality-related materials. They will work alongside the Director of Quality to ensure tracking and reporting on various metrics are completed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in writing Standard Operating Procedures to help create, improve or streamline current processes to ensure everyone is following correct company guidelines.
- Identify gaps in efficient process workflow and suggest steps for quality process improvement.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze information for process improvement and/or corrective action.
- Assists in defining and improving processes as part of a team to promote quality standards within the workplace.
- Perform quality manual revisions as directed by the Director of Quality to promote quality and improve/streamline standards within the company.
- Set up quality tracking, monitor and then report on various metrics.
- Perform Project Audits as needed to provide clear direction to the team and ensure fluidity between departments.
- Perform assigned quality action control and tracking.
- Investigate quality issues to identify root causes and ensure issues are addressed and resolved within the company.
- Conduct the weekly quality newsletter via email to appropriate recipients.
- Develop and post Quality Topics posters/newsletters for the office.
- Produce new training videos to ensure the team is up to date on all new or changing quality criteria.
- Perform appropriate quality surveys and research as needed for certain projects directed by the Director of Quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Architecture, etc.
- 2+ years related experience or equivalent.
- Valid drivers’ license required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other online collaboration tools.
