SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

The successful candidate for this role will have 10-15 years experience in the planning, analysis, design and construction administration services of complex structural systems for a wide variety of public and private development projects such as structural investigations and evaluations, integrity assessments, crane railway surveys and inspections, design of foundations, structural steel, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, masonry, wood structures, special structures and bridges and culverts. Senior Structural Engineers act as a senior, advanced engineer responsible for technical development in the Structural Engineering Department and report directly to the Structural Engineering Department Manager. May lead one large project or a number of small projects, usually coordinating the work of less experienced engineers, technical assistants, and drafters. They work closely with the directors, managers, and engineering staff to ensure our client’s needs and expectations are exceeded.

RESPONSBILITIES:                           

  • Prepares complex calculations, designs, specifications and/or reports for checking and reviewing by others.
  • Checks complex calculations, designs, specifications and/or reports prepared by others.
  • Assumes complete responsibility for structural engineering for complex projects.
  • Directs technicians and/or drafters assigned to the department.
  • Coordinates work of his/her discipline with other disciplines.
  • Makes recommendation and/or decisions on unusual or complicated issues.
  • Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
  • Directs and assists co-workers with performing field measurements.
  • May assess the requirements of a project, break a project down into tasks, and work with a project manager to determine scope, budget and staffing for a project.
  • Serves as Project Engineer on complex, single-discipline projects and complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Reviews work of the project design team. Checks the progress of work and alerts the Project Manager to needed changes to the scope or other services.
  • Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to the building code is required.
  • Directs construction observation of others on complex projects.
  • Assists in the education and development of design staff and acts as a resource for design questions.
  • Maintains neat and organized work area to allow efficient access to project information required by other team members.
  • Assists with whatever duties are required to deliver a quality project on schedule and within budget.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Ohio PE License (Preferred)
  • Structural analysis software experience.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Must keep current on the “state of the art” in their design specialty through a review of periodicals and continuing education.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the client.
  • Possess integrity, sense of responsibility, independent judgment.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

The successful candidate for this role will have 10-15 years experience in planning, design and construction administration services for a variety of public and private infrastructure improvements projects such as site design, grading and drainage, storm water management, streets and roadways, underground utilities, irrigation systems, parking areas, sewer collection systems, water transmission and distribution, culverts and drainage structures. Senior Civil Engineers act as a senior, advanced engineer responsible for technical development in the Civil Engineering Department and report directly to the Civil Engineering Department Manager. May lead one large project or a number of small projects, usually coordinating the work of less experienced engineers, technical assistants, and drafters. They work closely with the directors, managers, and engineering staff to ensure our client’s needs and expectations are exceeded.

RESPONSBILITIES:                           

  • Prepares complex calculations, designs, specifications and/or reports for checking and reviewing by others.

  • Assumes complete responsibility for engineering within his/her discipline for complex projects.

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The successful candidate for this role will have 15 years experience in planning, design and construction administration services for a variety of public and private capital and maintenance projects involving mechanical piping design such as hydronic heating, chilled water, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, plumbing, fire protection, process piping, industrial ventilation, piping design and layout for process systems, stress analysis, code/pressure vessel design, welding and materials design, pipe support systems, air, natural gas, nitrogen, steam, water, liquid fuels and process fluids.  Mechanical Senior Engineers act as a senior, advanced engineer responsible for technical development in the Mechanical Engineering Department and report directly to the Department Manager for administrative purposes and project managers for project-related issues. May lead one large project or a number of small projects, usually coordinating the work of less experienced engineers, technical assistants, and drafters. They work closely with the directors, managers, and engineering staff to ensure our client’s needs and expectations are exceeded.

RESPONSBILITIES:           

  • Serves as Project Manager on single discipline projects.
  • Serves as Lead Engineer on projects to interface with other departments in order to support the mechanical engineering effort. Directs designers and / or drafters assigned to the department.
  • Assists with development of proposals and project documentation.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in design tasks for completion of routine and simple pipe routing and layouts.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in design tasks for preparation of drawings including piping plans, sections, details and isometrics.
  • Proactive in coordinating other disciplines’ tasks with their own.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in techniques for estimating engineering manhours estimates and for documenting bill of materials / project scope.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in techniques for pipe support design.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in techniques for routine and simple hydraulic calculations including incompressible flow, compressible flow and networks.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in design tasks for completion of routine and simple duct routing and layouts.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in design tasks for completion of routine and simple plumbing routing and layouts.
  • Knows, follows, reviews and mentors in techniques for preforming routine and simple Heating/AC and ventilation load calculations.
  • Performs field measurements independently and mentors others in the same.
  • Performs and directs construction support on routine and simple projects.
  • Responsible for meeting their scope, schedule and budget on projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ohio PE License required.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in the PC/windows environment with experience in e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology ( BSET ) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. Registered professional engineer preferred. Minimum 10 years experience in the design and specification of power distribution systems, lighting and specialty systems (communication, life safety), for industrial, commercial and institutional facilities. Experience must include:

  • Preparing detailed engineering calculations (short circuit and lighting, arc flash analysis a plus)
  • Performing engineering-related field tasks at active construction sites or operating facilities
  • Preparing formal engineering technical reports
  • Developing equipment specifications, estimates, and bid evaluation·
  • Serving as discipline lead performing engineering hour estimate and scope of work·
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Proficiency in the use of Word and Excel
HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the HR Generalist will perform various human resources duties in areas such as employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee engagement, and/or other special projects as needed. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong negotiating skills and the ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts. The successful team member will also be well-organized, have superior time management skills and be able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. This position operates under minimal supervision with a wide latitude for independent judgment.

RESPONSBILITIES:                           

Essential Functions:                       

  • Serve as a business partner for our management team and employees, to assist with questions regarding benefits, policies, procedures and resolution of personnel-related issues.
  • Perform various, moderately complex, duties focused on employment, compensation, benefits, training, performance management and other HR-related tasks as needed.
  • Conduct special studies, prepare reporting and present findings, as needed.

  • Serves as a liaison between the organization and insurance or retirement benefit vendors. This includes adding or terminating employees from the benefit programs and helping to answer questions or resolve benefit related issues that may arise.
  • Review and evaluate costs, contract, and deliverables during the renewal process.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Vendor representatives.
  • Ensure and follow through with all necessary training when applicable.
  • Assist in coordination of leave of absence requests for all employees. These services include employee and manager counseling on leave of absence policies and processes, payroll updates, case tracking, etc.
  • Partner with managers across the organization to coach and assist on employment related matters.
  • Facilitate and analyze annual employee surveys.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages and any others as requested.
  • Manage and audit data and workflows in HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Some travel as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS Degree in human resources, or similar business focus.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in HR Generalist functions in a corporate environment.
  • PHR Certification a plus, or willingness to complete PHR
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of integrity and ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong customer service orientation required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, time management, decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Paycor/HRIS experience
SUBSTATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology ( BSET ) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. Registered professional engineer preferred. Minimum 4 years experience in the design and specification of power distribution systems at substations for utilities.  Experience must include:

  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems including familiarity with physical characteristics, connection, and support requirements for conductors, pad-mounted equipment, reclosers, and similar equipment
  • Preparing detailed engineering calculations
  • Performing engineering-related field tasks at active substations
  • Preparing formal engineering technical reports
  • Developing equipment specifications, estimates, and bid evaluation
  • Serving as discipline lead performing engineering hour estimate and scope of work
  • Well versed in electrical codes and standards
  • Proficiency in the use of Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD a plus
SUBSTATION ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

Minimum of 5 years experience in designing substations for utilities. Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Experience must include:

  • Generation of schematic control drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, terminal blocks, bills of materials, one line diagrams, conduit layouts, and conduit schedules
  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems including familiarity with physical characteristics, connection, and support requirements for conductors, pad-mounted equipment, reclosers, and similar equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards
  • Performance of field surveys as member of team to obtain accurate measurements and equipment data
  • Proficiency in the use of Word and Excel
MECHANICAL/PIPING DESIGNER
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and minimum of five years of progressive experience in design and drafting of process and utility piping systems.  Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2010.  Experience in AutoCAD 3D and/or SolidWorks a plus.  Design experience must include:
  • Layout and routing of complex process and utility piping systems.
  • Selection and design of pipe supports.
  • Preparation of piping plans, sections, details and isometrics.
  • Performance of field surveys to obtain accurate measurements independently.
  • Development of material specifications, take offs and cost estimates.
ELECTRICAL DESIGNER
  • Associate or accredited bachelors degree tracked in electrical engineering and minimum of two years experience in AutoCAD drafting of electrical drawings. Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Experience in BIM/Revit a plus. Experience must include:
  • Generation of schematic motor control drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, terminal blocks, bills of materials, one line diagrams and conduit schedules.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
  • Performance of field surveys as member of team to obtain accurate measurements and equipment data.
