SCOPE OF WORK
Copperweld Corporation expanded their business into the stainless steel tube market with the construction of a greenfield production facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The design efforts on the part of R.E. Warner & Associates, Inc. were five fold.

The facilities engineering involved architectural design, site developments, mill building general arrangements as well as building and equipment foundation design. In addition to the development of exterior plans, elevations and details for a 42,000 square foot mill building, a 5,600 square foot office building including the interior layout, room finish and door/window schedules and details was also designed.

The piping design included engineering drawings and details for the interconnection of the mill and process equipment water, gases and hydraulic fluids as well as the plumbing designs for the office building. An emergency cooling water system and an annealing chamber cooling system were designed. The electrical engineering scope consisted of construction drawings and details for the interconnection of the process and mechanical equipment as well as the building lighting and power. The design also included embedded conduit design and cable schedules. The power distribution system design included a 3000KVA doubled ended substation and 2-anneal substations at 1540KVA and 770KVA. The primary power system design will allow expansion of the power system to double the capacity for future expansion of the process.
