Study, evaluation and preparation of plans and specifications to construct stormwater drainage improvements, eliminate sanitary sewer infiltration and increase water pressure at the Grafton Correctional Institution and the Lorain Correctional Institution. The following pre-design, design development, construction documents, bidding and construction administration tasks were included:

  • Kick-off meeting with agency and owner.
  • Obtaining site reference drawings.
  • Review of existing facilities and expansion plans on site with agency and owner.
  • Site survey of existing facilities, utilities and topo.
  • Preliminary design and layout of site drainage, sanitary sewer and water line.
  • Submittal of preliminary design/layout to OEPA for review and comments.
  • Obtaining soil borings along proposed route.
  • Preparing specifications and construction issue drawings for agency and owner final approval
  • Submittal of PTI, specifications and drawings to OEPA for approval.
  • Obtaining OEPA approval.
  • Advertising for bids.
  • Obtaining bids and preparation of bid tabulation.
  • Letting contract.
  • Assisting contractor to obtain building permit.
  • Periodic on-site construction observation and submission of field observation/progress reports to Owner.
  • Preparing project closeout punch lists and obtaining contractor mark-up prints.
  • Preparing record drawing revisions from contractor mark-up prints.
  • Issuing record drawings to Owner.
