R.E. Warner’s 4th Annual Open House Benefiting Toys for Tots Sets New Record

On November 8th, we celebrated the start of the holidays with our Fourth Annual Open House and Toys for Tots Benefit, raising over $3,500 – a new record! – plus dozens of toy donations in support of Toys for Tots. More than 100 attendees spent the evening mingling, enjoying festive refreshments, shopping the Holiday Market, and bidding on Chinese Raffle prizes like Cavs tickets, catering packages, a FitBit Blaze, spa baskets, restaurant gift cards, and more.

All of the funds raised at the Open House support The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, started more than 50 years ago by The U.S. Marine Corps to ensure our country’s less fortunate children experience the magic of the holidays. We thank all of our guests, donors and vendors for helping us bring joy to a child this holiday season.

Our annual Open House is R.E. Warner’s signature philanthropy initiative; however, our team members make it a point to give back all year long. Through participating in Jeans for a Cause, Harvest for Hunger, Mayor Jackson’s Holiday Food Basket Giveaway, and more, we are proud to have raised over $11,000 each of the last several years to support many worthy causes in our community—living out our corporate values of improving […]

R.E. Warner Hosts Senior Experience Students

At R.E. Warner & Associates, Inc., we value the personal development of the individual. One example of this value in practice is that we frequently open our doors to high school students so that they may gain exposure to the engineering profession. This spring, R.E. Warner provided seniors the opportunity to acquire a more active and reflective understanding of their potential career by hosting three high school senior students for their Senior Experience Project.

The Senior Experience project is a three-week experience designed to help seniors explore a potential career of interest. Visiting R.E. Warner were Samantha Johnson and Ryan Tatton (Walsh Jesuit) and Logan Haney (Benedictine).

“Having Sam, Ryan and Logan with us was a great experience. Hopefully, they learned that a career in engineering/architecture is right for them. We really enjoyed getting to know them. The ‘Senior Experience’ is a very worthwhile opportunity for high school students to explore career possibilities.” remarked Brett Neff, R.E. Warner Senior Vice President.

SENIOR STUDENTS COMMENT

Of her Senior Experience working at R.E. Warner, Samantha said, “Thank you for allowing me to do my senior experience at R.E. Warner. I was able to build a deeper understanding for what a degree in civil engineering might entail. The […]

Matt Benovic and Ryan O’Hearn Sworn in as ASCE Officers

R.E. Warner congratulates Senior Project Manager Matt Benovic (pictured second from right) and Structural Engineer Ryan O’Hearn (pictured second from left) on being sworn in as President and Secretary respectively of The American Society of Civil Engineers Cleveland Section.

The ceremony took place at the chapter’s Annual Dinner on May 17, 2017 at Nuevo restaurant on the downtown Cleveland waterfront. Matt previously served as Vice President and Ryan is serving his second term as Secretary.

When asked about the chapter’s goals for the upcoming year, Matt and Ryan shared that the main priorities are:

-To complete a Northeast Ohio Regional Report Card to help educate the public on the economic impacts of aging infrastructure.

-To build a sustainable scholarship fund to help the most involved aspiring civil engineers with the rising cost of higher education.

-To grow the educational opportunities the Section offers to its members by bringing in distinguished engineers to speak and building on the technical content of the ASCE Institutes to provide more discipline specific learning events.

-To continue the growth of outreach to middle and high school STEM students, including Great Lakes Science Center program outreach and a weekly afternoon Civil Engineering Club at Orchard STEM School. These programs serve to educate and inspire […]

2016 Mayor’s Holiday Basket Giveaway

Each December, our staff and their families spend a Saturday morning volunteering alongside hundreds of others for Mayor Jackson’s Annual Holiday Food Basket Giveaway. The giveaway is the largest annual food giveaway in Cuyahoga County and helps to feed thousands of Cleveland families each year. Our team was at the Cleveland Foodbank location this past weekend helping to distribute 563 50-pound bags containing essential holiday groceries.

This marks the 26th year of the Mayor’s Holiday Basket Giveaway and R.E. Warner’s ninth year volunteering.

Recapping Our Third Annual Open House & Toys for Tots Benefit

On November 9th, R.E. Warner hosted our Third Annual Open House and Toys for Tots Benefit, raising over $2,900 – nearly $1,000 more than last year – plus dozens of toy donations in support of Toys for Tots. More than 100 attendees spent the evening mingling, enjoying refreshments, shopping the Holiday Market, and bidding on Chinese raffle prizes like Cavs tickets, Browns tickets, Bose speakers, spa baskets, restaurant gift cards, and more.

R.E. Warner started this event three years ago, building on our team’s existing Toys for Tots toy drive. In the spirit of the firm’s calling to improve our community and the lives of those within it, our staff has found many ways over the years to support different causes such as this one. When the idea of a company open house was mentioned, our staff proposed that the event do double duty as a Toys for Tots benefit.

All of the proceeds from this event will support The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, started more than 50 years ago by The U.S. Marine Corps to ensure our country’s less fortunate children experience the magic of the holidays.

The ultimate success of Toys for Tots depends on the support and generosity of […]
